Kayla Ehrhardt

Instructor & Choreographer

Kayla Ehrhardt began dancing at the age of two and joined the Central Wisconsin School of Ballet family at the age of six. Throughout those twelve years, she trained under Waltraud Karkar, Patrik Kasper, and many other highly esteemed guest artists. She also was a member of Wausau Dance Theatre where she had the opportunity to travel to Germany to perform Sleeping Beauty in 2004. In 2012, Kayla graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance and a minor in psychology. During her four years at UWM, she had the honor of being cast in prestigious guest artists’ works, such as Canonic 3/4 Studies by Mark Morris and The Year of Unremarkable Laughter by Colleen Thomas. Kayla also studied and performed modern and contemporary ballet repertoire by faculty such as Ed Burgess, Elizabeth Johnson, Dani Kuepper, Luc Vanier, Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner, Christina Briggs-Winslow, Simone Ferro, and Gerald Casel.

After graduation, Kayla was a member of two Milwaukee modern dance companies, Your Mother Dances, under the artistic direction of Elizabeth Johnson, and NomadicLimbs, under Thom Dancy. There she spent time honing her craft and working with other choreographers and dancers performing rep and collaborating in the choreographic process.

Throughout college and the years that followed, Kayla found her calling through dance instruction. She spent 9 years teaching and creating award-winning choreography for Accent on Dance Studios in Waukesha, Wisconsin. There she trained all ages of students in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and improvisation techniques. Most recently, Kayla is honored and grateful to return to the Central Wisconsin School of Ballet where she fulfills her passion of sharing dance through the route of education.
